iverpool legend Mohamed Salah has accepted an offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad, with the Egyptian forward reportedly agreeing to a deal worth $25 million per season, according to Turkish outlet Sabah.
The report claims Salah has given the green light to the move after weighing up his options following the end of his Liverpool career.
Sabah reports that Al-Ittihad have now moved into a strong position to complete the signing after long-standing interest in the 34-year-old.
The Jeddah club previously attempted to sign Salah during his time at Liverpool and have continued to monitor his situation since he became available this summer.
The latest claim follows weeks of uncertainty over Salah’s next destination.
The former Liverpool forward had been linked with several clubs after leaving Anfield, including Turkish side Besiktas, but those negotiations ultimately failed to produce an agreement.
Besiktas later confirmed that discussions had taken place before the transfer was put on hold.
Al-Ittihad’s interest in Salah is not new. The Saudi club saw a bid rejected by Liverpool in 2023 and revived its pursuit after Salah confirmed earlier this year that he would leave the Premier League club at the end of the 2025-26 season.
ESPN reported in March that Al-Ittihad had resumed work on a deal, identifying the Egypt international as a marquee addition following Karim Benzema’s departure.
Reports throughout 2026 have consistently linked Al-Ittihad with Salah, although negotiations have been described differently by various outlets.
Earlier reports suggested the Saudi club were preparing a lucrative package and remained confident they could secure his signature, while other clubs in Europe and elsewhere were also credited with an interest.
If the transfer is completed, Salah would become one of the Saudi Pro League’s highest-profile arrivals and provide Al-Ittihad with the global star they have been seeking.
The club have been looking to strengthen their squad after changes to their attacking options and have viewed Salah as a key figure for their long-term project.
Meanwhile, journalist Ismael Mahmoud has dismissed the reports as inaccurate. Regarded as a reliable source on Mohamed Salah, Mahmoud wrote on X: “Incorrect, this is nonsense.”
