Ten people were injured, four of them critically, when a luxury yacht collided with a rigid inflatable boat off the French Mediterranean coast near Cannes, with a man in his mid-20s reported missing, the French Mediterranean maritime prefecture said on Monday.
The accident occurred at around 11 pm (2100 GMT) on Sunday in the Bay of Cannes to the west of the city.
A total of 21 people were on board the two vessels: a luxury yacht of around 10 metres in length and the inflatable boat. According to the newspaper Le Monde, several of those injured were teenagers.
The missing man was on board the inflatable boat, according to the television channel France 3. A helicopter and several boats were deployed to search for him, but the search was unsuccessful.
The cause of the collision was initially unclear.
