A Death Row inmate has taken requesting a final meal before his execution to a whole new level.
Stacey Humphreys, 53, is to be executed for two brutal killings next week and has now put his order in for what he wants to have to eat before taking his final breath.
The Georgia inmate has asked for a load of fried foods and desserts before his life is taken in retaliation for the murders of two real estate agents 20 years ago. He has asked for a range of barbecue items, fried foods and two different types of ice cream, requesting barbecue beef brisket, pork ribs, a bacon double cheeseburger, French fries, buffalo wings and a meat lovers pan pizza.
For dessert, he asked for two flavors of ice cream, butter pecan and peach, as well as two caffeine-free sodas to wash it all down with before he undergoes the lethal injection, set to be administered on September 16 at 7pm.

But as well as a giant feast, he is also hoping for a last-minute reprieve from having his life taken and has put in appeal against the verdict and sentencing, which could see him spared, at least temporarily.
If the request is denied, he will be the first person executed in Georgia since March 2024, as the executions have been paused in the state over an agreement related to the coronavirus pandemic.
Previously, Humphreys was scheduled to be put to death last December, but the execution was delayed after his lawyers filed a petition asking a judge to order two members of the State Board of Pardons and Paroles to recuse themselves from hearing his clemency petition.

He was convicted of the 2003 murders of real estate agents Cyndi Williams, 33, and Lori Brown, 21.
He shot the women dead at a sales office in a model home for a new subdivision in Powder Springs, a suburb about 20 miles northwest of Atlanta on November 3, 2003.
He forced them to strip naked and give him their bank PINs before shooting them to death around midday.
Court documents show he took the women’s driver’s licenses and bank and credit cards, and withdrew more than $3,000 from their accounts.

In police interviews following their deaths, he told officers he had recently taken out some high-interest payday loans and needed money for a payment on his truck.
Humphreys had been released from prison 13 months earlier and was on parole for a 1993 felony theft conviction.
He was sentenced to death after a jury found him guilty of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery and kidnapping with bodily injury.

On August 28, his attorneys filed a motion in Cobb County Court for a new sentencing trial, claiming juror misconduct during his initial sentencing.
The judge is yet to make a ruling, but if he sides with Humphreys, he could be allowed a new sentencing trial and the chance to overturn his death sentence.
